Zvyšování výkonnosti ekonomiky je obecně spojováno se změnami podílu jednotlivých sektorů (primárního, sekundárního a terciárního) na zaměstnanosti a na tvorbě bohatství. Specifika terciárního sektoru, v jehož prospěch dochází k mezisektorovým posunům, mohou být jedním z faktorů pozitivně ovlivňujících konvergenci regionů. Ukazuje se ale, že existují dvě protichůdné tendence, a to extenzivní aspekt, který působí prokonvergenčně a intenzivní aspekt, který naopak působí protikonvergenčně. eng	Extensive and Intensive Aspect of the Sector Shifts Influence on a Regional Convergence	One of the EU regional political aims is the convergence of its regions´ levels in the way of a backward regions enhancement. The increase in economic performance is joined with changes in the shares of particular sectors (primary, secondary and tertiary) in employment and in welfare creation generally. Specificities of the tertiary sector - in its benefit attend to inter-sector shifts ? can be one of the factors that affect regional convergence positively. It is shown that two contradictory tendencies exist; an extensive aspect, which affects towards convergence, and an intensive aspect, which ? on the contrary ? affects against convergence. The article illustrates this problem in the case of Czech countries and Slovakia in the context of their development from the mid-20th century to the present day.	regional convergence;economic sectors;employment;performance;structural indicators of efficiency
