I wanted to study a course that was related to the management of Information Technology and the Czech Republic was my first choice as it was known for its high quality of education and cultural heritage which gives me the opportunity to learn, have fun and explore. As a University of Pardubice alumnus who graduated from the Bachelors programme of Informatics and System Engineering in 2009, I comprehend with the tremendous value of a great education and its importance in providing a solid foundation in personal and professional life. In today’s world, businesses are more aware than ever that they need to invest into IT assets (Hardware or Software) to optimize efficiency, productivity amongst many more and the importance of having individuals who have the skill sets to create the vision and drive business strategies that are aligned with Information Technology. The University of Pardubice’s well-designed courses and their fantastic lecturers, such as Professor Komarkova, Krupka amongst many, helped equip me with the knowledge and skills in the 3 years of studying there. I must also emphasise that my assigned International Coordinator guided me on a daily basis from my first year till I graduated, which shows the support system you get as a student of the university. A month after graduation I got my first job with Hewlett Packard as a Business Analyst and then few years later, I attended Business School for my M.B.A degree, which propelled my career to become a Country Manager. Today I live and work in Canada as a Senior IT Consultant for one of the largest telecom companies in Canada and my experience from the University of Pardubice is a part of me that I carry with pride and will be forever thankful for. Remember, it’s important to attend your classes but university isn’t just about going to class and getting course works done, it’s about having fun, enjoying every moment, finding a sense of belonging amongst your fellow students and coming out on top.
