The following range of knowledge is required when applying for the PhD studies at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Pardubice.

Macroeconomics

1. Aggregate demand and equilibrium output – Keynesian model. Determination of the equilibrium output in the two- sector and three-sector model of economy.
2. Model IS-LM.
3. The effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy in the model IS-LM.
4. Open economy and determination of equilibrium output.
5. Balance of payment and IS-LM-BP model.
6. Aggregate demand and aggregate supply model (short term and long-term).
7. The effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy in the model AD-AS.
8. The labour market, unemployment.
9. Substitution of inflation and unemployment -Phillips curves. Inflation.
10. Long-term economic growth.


 Microeconomics

1. Consumer behaviour and individual demand formation.
2. Utility, preferences and equilibrium of consumer.
3. Firm’s choice and supply formation.

Requirements for the language skills (English)
 
It is required that applicants reach the upper-intermediate level of the English language so they are able to understand the scientific economic texts in English (written form) and have abilities to communicate in English on diverse scientific topics (oral form).

The following range of knowledge is required when applying for the PhD studies at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Pardubice.

4. Technical PC equipment, equipment classification, basic overview, developing tendencies 
5. Programming PC equipment, classification of programming equipment, basic overview

7. PC nets and their possibilities (net classification, net protocols, means for network)
8. Principles of work in the Internet environment, possibilities of the Internet use, differences between Intranet and Extranet
9. Internet services, information searching and work with information sources through Internet services
10. Presentation development in the Internet environment (possibilities of WWW pages development)
11. E-commerce and enterprising 
12. Data classification, data types
13. Classification and principles of database systems
14. Principles of relation database systems
15. Principles of objective database systems
16. Principles of data modelling
17. PC graphics, saving and processing of graphic information, graphic editors and its possibilities
18. Safety of information systems and data bases

Requirements on the English language

The active (advanced) knowledge of the English language is required. Students need to be experienced with reading of a scientific text and its understanding followed by a scientific discussion. The presentation ability of issues on a doctoral thesis in both written and oral form is essential.
