Description:
The current situation in the development of economies and financial markets is atypical in terms of historical developments. Although monetary policy is finally succeeding in normalising, i.e. using its standard instruments, significant non-economic shocks are emerging, such as the receding impact of the pandemic and the abnormal rise in energy prices. Furthermore, economies are in a period of high sovereign debt and higher inflation rates. These non-standard factors, or even a combination of them, are thus having a significant impact on the development of economies and financial markets. Therefore, the aim of this project is to explain the significance and impact of these variables on economic development, competitiveness and stability of economies and on selected aspects of financial markets. The project will include analyses specific to selected variables. The project will contribute by updating the scientific knowledge in the context of the changing environment and by making follow-up recommendations to monetary and fiscal policy makers, EU policy makers and legislators, as well as bank managers on the risk management.
