Provider: Univerzita Pardubice
Programme: Studentská grantová soutěž
Implementation period: 01.01.17 - 31.12.17
Investigator: Svoboda Ondřej
Team member: Maštálka Martin | Ibl Martin | Zdražil Pavel
Description:
The aim of the project is to evaluate the possibility of using the concept of Smart Cities and Smart Regions for the regional management towards resilience, sustainability and high quality of life. Contemporary approaches to the study of these phenomena often fail because they are mostly based on the approaches abstracted from spatial linkages and do not take into account the complexity of mentioned factors. The project therefore focuses on the application of the methods of Evolutionary Economic Geography and Complexity Theory. It evaluates the barrier of achieving the resilience and quality of life in cities and regions on one side and it identifies and evaluates the effects resulting from the implementation of Smart Cities and Smart Regions tools on the other side. This would be useful for ensuring the desired trajectory of urban and regional development. The outputs of the project are potentially exploitable for management of cities and regions and at the same time the results of the project may constitute a preliminary research for the design of projects seeking financial support from some of grant agencies. The goal of the project " Threats and Opportunities for Implementation of the Concept of Smart Cities and Smart Region in the Context of Regional Development" is the evaluation and identification of the achievement of the regional strength and the quality of life and an assessment of the usability of Smart Cities and Smart Regions tools to their potential threats as well.
