eng Modelling Knowledge Spillovers via Collaboration between Creative Employees Creativity and innovativeness represent key factors in obtaining competitive advantage, especially in creative industries. Fast growing creative enterprises employ creative workers, but this process is expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, they often acquire creative skills from external sources, including freelancers, consultants, and other independent enterprises. Here we argue that knowledge spill-over effects are formed via collaboration between internal and external creative workers. We used the EU Community Innovation Survey data for Czech enterprises to show that these effects positively affect innovation activity in creative industries. This result demonstrates the synergistic effect of knowledge that internal and external employees bring to the enterprise. In fact, we did not observe a direct effect of creative skills on the ability to innovate.
