eng	Influence of Science and Research on Regional Competitiveness-Czech Republic Case Study	Concept of the knowledge economy and innovation development is an important aspect of regional competitiveness. Rating competitiveness of regions and identifying disparities between them is an important tool that can be used both for exploring the extent of the effects of individual determinants of the competitiveness of the region, but also for the government in case of a decision on granting aid for the purpose of promoting economic development and increased competitiveness. This paper presents the application of the Index of regional competitiveness in the NUTS3 regions in the Czech Republic. The aim of the present paper is the analysis of selected determinants of the knowledge economy and their impact on regional competitiveness. This is done with the help of elasticity calculations.
