This paper deals with the problem of European Union subsidies which are intended for agricultural development. Existence of local action groups like initiators and creators of positive changes in functioning and development of the region plays a considerable role in the monitored area. The presented case study describes awareness of the subjects working in agriculture in the Šumperk district about subsidies and their experience with submitting project applications.
