První, uvozující kapitola, pojednává o bezpečnosti České republiky jak v začlenění do evropského kontextu, tak i zvlášť. Je vypíchnuta kybernetická kriminalita, která v informační době je obzvlášť důležitá a na níž navazují kapitoly 4 a 5. Kapitola 2 pojednává o ekonomice ochrany společnosti. Tento fenomén je rozebrán podrobně, neboť v české literatuře je nepříliž často zmiňován. V kapitole jsou uvedeny důležité pohledy na problematiku rizik a její prevence. Třetí kapitola pojednává o bezpečnosti v návaznosti na udržitelný rozvoj a na problém nahlíží zejména z manažerského hlediska Je použita řada přístupů, které poskytují zajímavý pohled využitelný pro praktické řešení, který oproti klasické analýze rizika může přinést užitečné výsledky. Čtvrtá kapitola se zbývá problematikou modelování bezpečnostních situací. eng	Selected aspects of the population safety and protection	This submitted publication on Selected Aspects of Security and Protection of the Population is divided into five chapters. The first, the introductory chapter, discusses the security of the Czech Republic both in the context of European integration, as well as separately. It briefly addresses the cyber criminality is emphasized since it is especially important in the age of information technologies and it is followed up with the chapter 4 and 5. The chapter 2 deals with the economy of civil security. This chapter provides important insights on the issues of risk and its prevention. The third chapter deals with security in relation to sustainable development and looks at the problem from a managerial point of view in particular. Comparing to traditional risk analysis it can bring useful results. The fourth chapter is engaged in the issue of modeling security situations.
