eng A Measure of Sustainability Performance: Case of Passenger Air Transport Sector This paper is part of the general framework of the problem of measurement of performance. It proposes a new tool of measurement of sustainable performance. This tool has been applied to the civil aviation sector around the world. The grid of analysis developed in this work allows measuring the sustainable performance of airlines on the basis of economic, social and environmental criteria, also on the basis of the expectations of the various stakeholders. Results show that cultural dimension affect the sustainability dimensions of airlines. In fact, Europe is leading on these aspects, followed by Oceania in the case of the Triple Bottom Line and Asia in the case of the stakeholder?s engagements. Other regions show ?sustainable? or ?almost sustainable? attitude for individual airlines, mostly if they are involved in some partnership or alliance, with a more established airline. This confirms the global trend of airlines towards sustainable development. Corporate Social Responsibility;airlines;stakeholders;sustainability;Triple Bottom Line
