Projevují se zde služby nových technologií, tzv. Internet GIS se rychle rozvíjí. Pro mnoho lidí je přirozené uživat tyto služby, mnohé školy mají zařazeny předměty týkající se zpřístupňování geografických informací na Internetu nebo v prostředí počítačových sítích. Internetová GIS řešení jsou dnes často chápány jako součást informačních systémů organizací, takže jsou na ně kladeny mnohé nové požadavky - například důvěryhodnost, spolehlivost či vzdálená administrace. Ačkoliv vzdálena administrace patří k základním požadavkům, není tak jednoduché ji implementovat kvůli bezpečnosti, možnotem operačního systému, ... V příspěvku jsou popsány první výsledky probíhajícího výzkumu, který se zabývá využitím internetových GIS ve veřejné správě.
eng	Geographic Information on the Web	Geographic information has become a necessary part of our lives. Nowadays it is needed by the people, public administration and business. Due to the increasing demand for easy and cheap access to geographic information and geoprocessing services new technologies have been developed. So called Internet GIS are spreading rapidly over the Internet. For many people it is normal to use their services. Many schools have introduced subjects which concern publishing geographic information by means of Internet and computer networks in general. Internet GIS are now very often understood as a part of an institutional information system so a there are many new demands on them ? for example reliability, trustworthiness or remote administration. Although remote administration belongs to the basic requirements on Internet GIS, it is not so easy to implement it because of security restrictions, operating system capabilities, Internet map server?s requirements, speed of Internet connection and many other reasons. First results (concerning remote administration of selected map servers - GeoMedia WebMap Professional and Minnesota Mapserver) of on-going study which deals with utilization of Internet GIS in public administration are described.
