Potřebná data vznikají v různých místech, je proto potřeba zajistit spolupráci mezi jednotlivými institucemi odpovědnými za jednotlivá data. Jednou z cest je využití distribuovaných systémů, což je názorně dokumentováno na případu Pardubického kraje.
eng Distributed Character of Internet GIS ? Case of Czech Regional Authorities Management of territory and its development belong to the tasks of public administration. Today, it is impossible to fulfill this task without using various decision support systems including geographic information systems. With widening of geographic information systems and increasing demands for geographic data Internet geographic information systems have been more and more used. In any case, correct and adequate geographic data are needed for the appropriate usage of geographic information systems in territory management and men?s life. In many cases data even must cross the boundaries of regions. Of course, it is impossible for each public administratio n authority to keep all the needed data by itself. Some cooperation among public administration bodies and other institutions should be established. In the paper there are described the first results of research in this area which is focused on utilization of Internet geographic information systems in the Czech public administration. One possible way for the Czech regional authorities ? distributed system, is proposed and demonstrated on the case of Pardubice Region in a simplified view. The final proposal must respect not only technological aspects but the real situation (e.g. organization of public administration bodies, Central Public Administration Portal and secure reference interface) too.
