eng An analysis of the factors affecting the decision-making process of women choosing computer and ICT-related courses: Preliminary research findings in Kyoto and Pardubice This report summarizes preliminary findings on the factors affecting the decision making process of women who study computer and ICT-related courses in Japan and the Czech Republic. Pilot surveys were implemented in the summer of 2008 in Kyoto and Pardubice. Using ex post analysis, we design a survey questionnaire targeting students who are currently studying computer and ICT-related courses and analyze the the factors that led them to their final decision. By doing so, we consider the factors that facilitate the choice of the ICT studies from the perspective of women, a potential resource for the computer and ICT field. This article includes a section which reports comparative results between Japan and the Czech Republic and we study the similarities and differences in the factors that affect female students in both the Asian and European settings. study computer and ICT-related courses;Japan;Czech Republic;survey
