eng	Mpa servers - a tool for supporting regional management	Nowadays, one cannot imagine a region management without using spatial data. At the same time there is a significant call for getting information technologies closer to citizens and end-users. In the terms of geographic informaton systems it means that a technology of Internet map servers is used more and more to allow interactive work with spatial data to users and provide them some of basic functions, e.g. zoom in/out, pan, query, print, .. All of the analyses are run on the map server side. Only result pictures are supplied back to the user by means of computer network. There are many ready-made softwares available which differ in their capabilities. Before choosing a particular solution it is necessary to determine an aim of a raising system and consider a lot of factors. Some of the factors which shoud be discussed during this process are discussed in the contribution.	map servers, GIS, Internet
