V tomto příspěvku rozebíráme historii, makroekonomické podmínky a hlavní milníky americké hypoteční krize, která později vyústila v celosvětový nedostatek likvidity a poskytování úvěrů. Dále popisujeme klíčové techniky a procesy řízení risk managementu v oblasti investičního bankovnictví, které zhoršily dopad krize, jako přesun rizika, sekuritizační techniky, ratingový proces a využívání mimobilančních aktiv. Kromě toho doporučujeme klíčové poznatky pro risk management ze současné krize a doporučujeme politiky, které by mohly pomoci zmenšit negativní dopad budoucích potenciálních krizí. finanční krize;sekuritize;riziko likvidity;sub-prime hypotéky;úvěrové riziko;suverénní fondy
eng Risk Management Lessons from The Current Financial Crisis While the form of crisis may change, their essence remained the same (e.g. abundant liquidity, rapid credit growth, low-inflation environment or asset-price bubble). In fact, the current market turbulence began in mid-2000s when macroeconomic imbalances of the US economy materialized. Consequently, in 2007 mounting defaults in the US sub-prime mortgage market resulted in a global fiscal contagion that spread around the world, roiling markets and causing a world economic upheaval. This contagion led to, for example, the nationalization of big financial institutions, the failures of banks, the end of an era in investment banking, increased federal insurance on banking deposits and opportunistic investments by sovereign wealth funds. In this paper, we discuss the history, macroeconomic conditions, and milestones of the US mortgage crisis that later resulted in the global liquidity and credit shortages. We also describe key investment banking and risk management techniques and processes that exacerbated the impact of the crisis, such as relying on an originate-to-distribute model, risk-shifting, securitization techniques, rating process and the use of off-balance sheet vehicles. Moreover, we address key lessons for risk management from the current crisis and recommend policies that should help diminish the negative impact of future potential crises. financial crisis;securitization;liquidity risk;subprime mortgages;credit risk;sovereign wealth fund
