Application of the Triple-Bottom-Line approach as a tool for creating sustainable innovation ecosystems

This project responds to current environmental issues, especially in Central and Eastern European countries, which have been criticized for their lower perception of environmental needs and which are identified as higher polluters, for example, in comparison with Western European countries. These states have also faced problems in the past, such as underdeveloped social capital in society, insufficient infrastructure or the inability to use public support effectively. This hindered effective (innovation) cooperation between the different actors that make up the innovation ecosystem. The main aim of this project is therefore to design ways to build effectively functioning sustainable innovation ecosystems, based on cooperation between different actors and at the same time on the Triple-Bottom-Line approach, which connects the three basic pillars of social responsibility (economic, social and environmental). In contrast to previous research on this issue, this project will bring together all three basic pillars of social responsibility, which previous studies have not always fully effectively linked. Previous research has primarily focused only on selected pillars. However, prior studies did not take into account the interaction of all pillars together. The project will also propose practical implications for public policy makers.
