Study a PhD programme, create a better future with us.

Doctoral studies are intended for those who want to establish themselves in the field, are interested in their own development and research work. It offers the opportunity to travel abroad for study or work stays, to participate in international conferences and to meet interesting personalities. The standard duration of the programme is 4 years and upon successful completion you will be awarded a PhD.

Prof. Jan Stejskal, Dean: "Doctoral studies are a huge life challenge that I am not alone in tackling ‒ I will be part of a team and I have a supervisor who will always help me... Thanks to doctoral studies, my freedom gains another huge dimension!"

Prof. Jana Janderova, Vice-Dean: "I associate doctoral studies with intellectual humility. At the end of the postgraduate study, things finally made more sense as they fit together like pieces of a puzzle; at the same time, I realised how little I still knew. Doctoral studies then, as a clear choice, brought me the opportunity to think intensively about my chosen topic, to search for and find solutions and the often-childlike joy of knowledge."

Prof. Michaela Striteska Kotkova, Institute of Economy and Management, Head: "Extending student life, meeting interesting people, learning about the beauty and complexity of scientific work, deepening knowledge and acquiring a range of new skills, and for me personally, it is also a gateway to academia."

Radka Bartonickova, Coordinator for PhD. study programmes: "Doctoral studies are intended for all those who are interested in combining their studies with scientific work. Upon successful completion, the graduate receives a Ph.D. degree, which opens up the possibility of a wide range of applications in both scientific fields and in practice. I will be happy to guide you through your doctoral studies on your way to success..."

Ondrej Kuba, PhD. student: "I consider doctoral studies as an opportunity to develop not only myself, but to contribute my results to the development of the whole society. Studying will offer you a range of opportunities that you had no idea about before."

Katerina Prihodova, PhD. student: "I enjoy technology, that's why I focused my attention on human hands, they are unique.  I'm exploring how to use the properties of our hands for new ways of security. Maybe I'll come up with a new method that adds a new biometric ‒ hand shape or temperature ‒ to a fingerprint, iris or voice."

Marketa Libiakova, PhD. student: "Doctoral studies mean for me the opportunity to continue to pursue a field that I am interested in and enjoy. The internship at a foreign university is also an interesting challenge."

Bernard Vanicek, PhD. student: "The most interesting thing for me in my doctoral studies is the teaching activity, because I consider the possibility of educating students and contributing to a generally higher education to be meaningful. The study also offers the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and participate in conferences where I can meet the greatest experts in the field."
