Last week, the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Pardubice hosted a roundtable discussion entitled Populism?!, which was organised jointly with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pardubice. The workshop was led by Karolis Jonutis, PhD. from Vilnius University, who is a postdoctoral fellow at the partner Klaipeda University in Lithuania. Karolis Jonutis is currently working on a project funded by The Research Council of Lithuania exploring populism in Central and Eastern European countries and came to our faculty for a month-long internship to learn about the realia of the Czech political scene and to interview some politicians. During the roundtable, academics working on populism exchanged their insights and agreed to further collaborate on research into this topic, which is likely to be increasingly present in our lives due to the worsening economic situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine.
